Ningbo Zhonghua is formed through a joint investment between APP,China Strategic Holdings Limited, Ningbo Duplex Board Factory, and China Paper and Pulp Import and Export Co., Ltd..It is the first mill invested and established by APP in China.

Gold East Paper is officially established. It is one of the world's largest coated paper mills in terms of single product capacity. The same year, Yalong Paper Products (Kunshan) Co., Ltd. is officially put into production and is now one of the most important paper product fine-processing companies in China.

Gold Hongye Paper Group Co., Ltd. begins operations in Suzhou. Its Breezeᵀᴹ Tissue Brand has since become a leading brand in China's tissue market. The same year, APP China's headquarters is established in Shanghai.

Ningbo Asia Pulp & Paper is put into operation, equipped with one of the world's largest single-machine production capacities and the most advanced industrial paperboard production lines.

Hainan Jinhai Pulp & Paper, APP China's first pulp mill, officially begins operations.

With an annual chemi-mechanical pulp production of 300,000 tons,the first phase of Guangxi Jingui's Integrated Plantation-Pulp-Paper project starts operations. The plant's 600,000-ton papermaking production line also starts operation.

APP announces its Vision 2020 Sustainability Roadmap, placing the conservation of natural resources at the center of its business strategy.

APP publishes the Forest Conservation Policy, imposing a moratorium on the clearance of all-natural forests across its supply chain. For forests that are of high conservation value and high carbon stock, APP will take targeted protective measures based on the results of thorough assessments.

APP China announces plans to make full use of existing plant buildings for rooftop photovoltaic (PV) power generation, with an overall capacity of over 200MW.

APP China's high-grade tissue  industrial base in Jiangsu Rudong is officially opened. The base aims to be a world-leading intelligent and environmentally friendly base for tissue paper production. In the same year, APP China relocates its headquarters to the Shanghai Sinar Mas Plaza, beginning a new era for the company.

Standing united with Wuhan and the rest of China, Sinar Mas Group donates RMB100 million in cash and RMB350,000 worth of Breeze™️ hygienic cleansing wipes to the Overseas Chinese Charity Foundation of China to support the fight against Covid-19. The donation makes Sinar Mas Group the first organization funded by an overseas Chinese to respond to calls from the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese to make donations to the affected areas.

The Sinar Mas - APP Rudong Tissue Base is successfully opened, marking the first milestone in the implementation of the Group's digital transformation strategy.

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the official entry of the APP into China, the ESG development concept was officially integrated into the group's sustainable development strategy, and the group's first ESG report was released on-site at the 5th CIIE.
